Polka Dot Spotted***

Here we are in the new year and I am committed even more to stepping into the "REAL" me!


I have decided to stick to my new coined phrase of being the "simply chic" blogger. For some time I have been searching for what my niche is but the entire time I already had one! 

My style is simple and chic and for me it comes effortlessly. This year it's all about sticking to my truth and watching my growth.
As I step into this new year here is the official first OOTD that I am excited to share.


Here I have on a black and off white polka dot blouse from DressBarn . I have always had a soft spot for polka dots. Most people don't like them because they claim it makes you look unflattering. 







I believe polka dots are fun and if paired with another pattern it could actually make you look smaller!
I have paired this with one of my favorite black tuxedo jacket from Loft .

This jacket is sleek and sophisticated! I love the entire feel and elegance this adds to any outfit!
I also have on these off white tailored pants that are also from DressBarn! 
These slacks are comfortable and sleek. This tailored fit keeps this look crisp and simple yet elegant. You can definitely go to the office or a day party in an outfit like this.
If you must go to work why not be fashionable about it I always say!
Since I have decided to go for this all classic look I added some classic  black suede stilettos from Prima Donna .


 As for my accessories I try to keep it simple with one of my favorite pieces a white 5 tiered statement necklace. This falls perfectly in the sweetheart neckline!
This year I would like to reiterate the importance the less is in fact more. You don't have to try so hard to be like the "bad chicks" with the long hair and over the top everything. Having a sleek look that's timeless now that to me is everything!

 I love to mix different products once you get a handle on how they work.
One of my favorite things to do is mix my foundations. I like to mix the SheaMoisture and L'oreal true Match because it give me better coverage and a smooth finish.
 For me I have my usual go to that I stick with but don't be afraid to try something new just once because you never know it may just become your new favorite thing!

Holidays done Simply**

As we come to the close of another amazing year I am grateful for the exciting street style statements on the rise especially during this season.
I am all about how to keep fashion simply chic and elegant at all times, and for the holiday it should be no different!
Most people go the extravagant route for the holidays with the over the top and grand accessories. That of all which I love but how do you approach the day to day route during this reason in a fashion forward way!
Fashion is only dictated to us four times a year. Style on the other hand is something you just have to have!
Don't worry I am here to show you how it's done!

Here is my OOTD and I hope it inspires you.
Today I have on one of my favorite colors electric blue!  

 My blouse is electric blue with draw button sleeves from Marshall's . This shirt is sheer and gorgeous for going out or being casual. I am all about styles that are versatile and can open up your wardrobe. 

I added a black vest with a blue and white pin stripe from one of my favorite boutiques but you can get something similar to this at DressBarn .
This vest has a very vintage yet masculine feel which I love because sometimes a men's cut statement piece can give you outfit an entire different depth it didn't have before.
My suggestion is be open to masculine piece in your wardrobe from time to time they make great accessories and create an edgy feel.

My new favorite piece that I have is my faux feather skirt from Joe Fresh . I absolutely have fallen head over heels for this piece. It's cute, chic, and most importantly FUNCTIONAL!!!!!! This skirt has pockets! I love fashion that is  simply chic and practical. 
That is my signature , looking good with a purpose. To me more over that was money well spent. On to my fabulous accessories! 






I have on some electric blue and gold heels  Platforms are
great and they give you extra support. My bag is an electric blue top handle tote from Kenneth Cole .

Flawless Winter White***

Winter is here and I must say we need to dress for the season. I am all for dressing for the weather, but why let it keep you from being stylish? Today I am ready to break one of fashions major rules. I am about to step out in WHITE!
I said it! WHITE after labor day. Actually winter whites are a hot commodity this winter and isn't frowned upon this season. You could almost continue on to say that white would be the new black! 
This can only happen when you know the basic fashion rules! Then, and only then can you break them!
Today I have on a simple and chic look that is to amaze you! Without further delay here it is!



 I am seen wearing an over sized denim shirt from Burlington Coat Factory. I love this shirt because it is comfortable, functional and extremely versatile. 

 You can do all things with this piece. I paired them with some winter white leggings with silver plated buttons down the side. 







Leggings are always a plus to have in your wardrobe. You can dress them up or down and they are functional for everyday purposes. You can find these in JCPenney .
As for my accessories I just added a gold plated necklace from H&M . They always have perfect accessories, but my advice is when looking take your time. 

Often times we rush through and leave because initially you don't see what you envisioned. I found this piece on my second go round in the store so always keep your eyes open.
My golden metallic hue sling back heels were the shoes of choice for the evening! I just love shimmer and for the holidays what better shoe to step out with!
My beauty journey is still in full swing! Here I have on the basic  liquid foundation and blush from SheaMoisture . 

Here I have on one of my favorite lipsticks called Golden Splendor from L'Oreal Paris . This lipstick is definitely one of my "go to" shades because its a neutral and goes with everything!

 I have an appreciation for all things FABULOUS!
Fashion and beauty go hand in hand which is why I have similar passion for them!
